EASYJET: DESPITE DECLINE IN ONE YEAR 2009-10 FAST

EasyJet dropped 4.1% to 453 pence in London, despite the announcement of an underlying taxable profit more than quadrupled in its fiscal year 2009-2010, to 188.3 million pounds sterling.

The low-cost airline has benefited from a reduction in fuel costs and a 11.5% growth in revenues to almost three billion pounds.
The average income per passenger rose 5.1% while traffic grew by nearly 8% to 48.8 million passengers, allowing an improvement in load factor to 87%.
These positive factors offset the adverse events occurred during the year, namely a particularly harsh winters, the cloud of volcanic ash in the spring, then in air traffic control strike this summer.
