Bombardier Transportation, a branch of the Canadian group Bombardier, today announced it has signed a contract with the Saudi construction company, Saudi Binladin Group, for the design, manufacture, operation and maintenance of an automated shuttle system "Bombardier Innovia APM 300", intended for the improvement project of King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The total contract value is 96 million, or approximately 68 million euros.
Remember that Saudi Binladin Group is the contractor responsible for the design and implementation of the proposed airport expansion KAIA and was detained by the Saudi Arabian General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in 2011.
In detail, the project involves the expansion of existing facilities for passengers at the airport by adding a terminal to accommodate a growing number of passengers.
The new system "Innovia APM 300" will be the backbone of passenger transport between terminals at King Abdulaziz International Airport.
The delivery system is planned for early 2014.
