The industrial producer prices (PPI) in the United Kingdom rose by 5.3% yoy in April 2011, the UK Office of Statistics, compared with an increase of 5.6% in March.
Sequentially in the PPI index rose 0.8%, after growth of 1.1% in March.
Excluding volatile items (food, beverages, tobacco and petroleum products) last month, the index increased 3.4% yoy and 0.6% in comparison with the previous month.
Excluding taxes, producer prices in April rose 5.5% yoy and 0.7% sequentially.
